The beer is a nice white and foamy head that dissipates fairly quickly. The beer itself is a clear, ark cherry red color that is very nice to look at. The color doesn't meet any style guidelines but given the amount of cherries used at the end, I'm not surprised at the color.
The smell is pretty good. It has a very nice, light tart note mixing well with the sweet and bready yeast notes. There is a slight earthiness to it but the cherry tartness and malt honey sweetness seem to dominate the nose. Also, the beer has a light hop note to it but it frequently gets lost in the cherry. The mix between the cherry and honey is great since the contrast between the two create a very nice smell.
The taste is great and much better than the smell. The taste is a bit more tarty and stronger in the cherry notes than in the smell. The hops aren't noticeable. Instead the cherry seems to carry most of the weight when balancing against the honey malt note to create a nice sweet and tarty taste.
The feel is pretty good. It's a nice medium bodied beer that is a little bit on the lighter side. It goes down smoothly and feels a bit thin but it doesn't ruin the experience. The biting carbonation gives a bit of nice texture with the tingling feeling. Also, a nice, refreshing feeling.
Overall, a very good beer and saison. The profile is unique enough to make it a fairly flexible beer in terms of pairings for courses. It's also a perfect beer for the evening. Go for it.
