There might be a touch of dark, dark maroon upon light refracting through this otherwise opaque blackness of a beer. Head was never a factor, although the slight foam ring is leaving a gravity resistant lacing. Nose is hot in an astringent fashion, only allowing for slight vanilla and a little oak. Taste is where this takes off, as the initial berry sweet alcohol heat gives way to nougat, and finally something akin to a dark chocolate dipped cranberry. Further along the silky side than not, but medium bodied at best. Finish is wet and leaves the astringency on the tongue. Pretty decent for sure.

A bit too much barrel in this one.
