Pour from a keg to a growler and from there to a beer mug. Foam head is modreate and fades fast to a presistemt wreath and thin veil over the beer. Very appropriate. The beer is clean, crystal clear medium gold...a very oretty pour.
The aroma very understated and neutral. Nothing exciting, and nothing suggesting defects. Neither malt- nor hops-forward. Esters are virtually non-existant, as expected for this style and the little but of malt in the nose is grainy rather than caramelly, again, as expected for an APA. I suspect may folks will want to smell more citrusy or floral or grassy hop aromas, but they are just not here...or simply well muted.
The flavor shines: clean, dry, well-balanced. No bitter back-palate twang. Refrshing real-beer flavor without the fruit and pine-tar tastes of many APAs and IPAS. Just enough hop bitterness and no more. Thank you fr the restraint.
Mouthfeel is medium-body, fairly highly carbonated--maybe a touch too gassy--and clean in the finish. Refreshing and ready to wash down any pizza you care to throw at it.
A very nice beer, very true t the style except fr the jardest hard-core hop-heads. Good beer!

On cask at the brewpub. Unimpressive looking beer with a hazy straw color and little foam. Smells much better with orange, caramel, and earth tones. Great taste for an APA. A strong mix of sticky dankness and citrusy bitter hops. Nice sweet malt backbone. Great on cask.

On draft at the source
Look: Appears a crystal clear, light yellow color. Looks very much like a Pilsner. Not much head but lots of bubbles flowing upwards.
Smell: Some crisp notes (fresh apple) but overall very little aroma on this one. I get a soap type smell which makes me think the glassware wasn't fully washed.
Taste: Mellow flavor upfront followed by a malt backbone and bitterness. Very crisp and easy drinking, although there is more bitterness here then I expect out of an APA.
Feel: Medium to medium-light body
Overall a pretty standard pale ale. The mellow flavor gives it a somewhat unique taste but the lack of aroma and bitterness knock it down notch.
