Bright golden body with a thin white cap. Sweet aroma, with notes of honey and fruity malt. Similar flavor. Perhaps a bit too sweet to enjoy in quantity. Honey and sourdough bread, some grainy notes. Decent.

tall lager glass at the brewpub
a: a light amber in color, sporting a layer of white carbonation, good retention
s: vienna and munich malts give a toasty sweetness to the clean lager base, hops mild and grassy, good start
m: carbonation around moderate, light-medium body
t: toasty german lager malts with a moderate sweetness, mild grassy noble hops and a light, crisp bitterness, a little on the sweet side for my preference but seems appropriate for the style
o: a nice lager with an enjoyable toasted malt character, the sugars hinder drinkability a bit, but don't affect enjoyment

From growler to Jackie O's tulip glass on 7/18/11
*From notes
A: Sumptuous dark and filtered amber. A careful pour yields a 1.5 finger head that fade fast. Minimal lacing.
S: Slightly boozy. Hints of black liquorice and bramble bush. A whif of sage lingers in the back of my nostrils.
T: Damn, this Vienna Lager is packed with flavor. A rich and hearty malt profile carries the load here, and it's certainly more robust then most lagers I've quaffed. Some dark fruit and plenty of alcohol ride from the mid to finish.
M: Creamy as hell. I can't believe the voluptous nature of this beer. It's big and bold with plenty of bite. The carbonation is spot-on too, as the bubbles wonderfully smooth, and accentuate the subtle flavor nuances of the brew.
O: Mad Fox's Elixir could easily cure many "ales", as this is one damn fine and delicious lager. Bill's first foreay into lagering is a huge success, and one that I hope hits their rotating taps often. Big thumbs up here.

On tap at the brewpub this past weekend. Served in a pilsner glass.
Pours a light copper color that is quite clear with an average, fizzy white head. Good spotty lacing on the way down. The nose carries a moderate amount of grainy malt with some very light caramel and a hint and herbal hops. The flavor falls along the same lines. The moderate bready malt pairs well with a touch of caramel and some noble hops; however, it actually gets a bit boozy in the finish. Light body with average carbonation. Bit too much booze in the finish, which is otherwise dry and somewhat bitter. Pretty good brew.
