Rye Baby Pale Ale

Pours a hazy copper colored body. The head is small and short-lived. Bubble action overall seems to be pretty minimal. Rye and bread dough are most prominent on the nose, with some pine cone and citrus basket aromas also present. The malts are sweeter than I expected from the smell (in a good way) and the hoppy taste of orange peel is quite assertive and long lasting on the finish. The low carbonation gives the body a feel that seems fuller than your average pale ale. The bitterness on its tail end is assertive enough that I'd recommend handling its food pairings as if it were an IPA.

"Our version of an American Pale Ale brewed with 13% German Rye Malt, Pale, Crystal and Munich Malts. Heavily Hopped with the American hop varietal Chinook solely to 80 IBU’s to showcase that hop characteristic. The piney hop flavors and the notes of the Rye Malt make for a complex flavor meld."

Had on cask today at the brewpub.

a - Pours a murky dark orange-yellow color with one inch of white head and low carbonation evident.

s - Smells of rye, bready malts, light pine hops, some pale malts, and a little bit of sourness to it.

t - Tastes or bready malts, rye, more pine hops than the nose, some pale malts, and some fruit. Tiniest bit of sour dough, but a step up from the nose.

m - Medium body and low carbonation. Very smooth and easy to drink.

o - Overall a pretty decent beer that is very easy to drink. Little bit of sourness to it and not an overly hoppy APA, but pretty good none the less. Worth trying, would probably order it again.
