Notes: Named after Decorah’s main street, this beer pays homage to our original accounts, most of who reside on Water Street. Hints of bananas and cloves make this wheat beer a favorite. Easy drinking with tons of flavor, the velvet texture finish is reminiscent of the Upper Iowa River, which flows just down the street from the original brewery.

poured into a chimay orange with a tan head, reduces to a ring

I get some banana bread and clove,

smooth going down with a clove bite, no negative aftertaste, light on its feet

light feel, ever-so-slight bitterness in aftertaste

this beer is not in my wheelhouse, but it was smooth, the clove doesn't do it for me.

Appearance: Hazy sunburst orange, little head.

Aroma: Yeast forward clove, and bubblegum.

Flavor: Clove yeah, wheat/nutty malt character come together to create this flavor that tastes exactly like grain husk. Not a huge fan.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, lingering tannin astringency.

Hazy dark orange body with a thin white collar. Wheat and citrus zest aroma. Ripe oranges. Fruity and light to medium bodied. Light bitterness. This was ok.

Poured from the bottle into a wheat ale glass.

Deep orange and muddy chestnut brown body color, looking like a weizenbock a bit here. Head is creamy off tan with a somewhat thick and wavy like two finger top. Decent staying power and retention, with some fine carbonation that can barely be seen at the bottom.

Real nice aroma. Grain and chewy wheat smell with a noticeable clove like quality and a milky bit of hazelnut like quality. A hint of sweetness comes off as well, with a thick and deep powdered grain sense.

Palate seems to lack a little. Nutty quality on first sip in the mid palate, but comes off with a bit wet and watery. The nutty quality continues in the finish but is followed by a long and lingering bitter grain that develops and grows after some time, but with a tolerable taste. Pleasant peppery notes also come forth in the mid palate also making the beer a bit hot somewhat.

Interesting take on a wheat ale, very different, has some unique qualities, but really lacks a lot of body and depth to it.

Pour a deep orange, almost red with a thin white head. A wonderful orange yeast smell with a slight funk. You can definitely taste the hops upfront and taste fades with the banana yeast taste. It's unique, maybey slightly too bitter that makes it less refreshing. A very busy beer that doesn't quite come smoothly together.

A wheat beer by Toppling Goliath?

Opened this and could tell immediately as I poured it that it was way cloudy. Taste is not like a wheat. Quite hoppy and a little sweet. The finish leaves hop bitterness for quite some time.

Mouth feel is ok. Overall, I was surprised by this beer. Different than their other offerings but still mostly hoppy.
