16.9 oz bottle Bottled on 2/8/2022. Drank on 3/21/2024
At this point it looks, smells and tastes like a barrel aged English Barley Wine.
Solid beer, smooth. not really all that sweet. ABV was well hidden. Nice malty somewhat thick mouth feel.
The barrel notes are mild. I will give it a 4.27/5 overall

poured from a 500mL bottle into a CW snifter. pours that barleywine puddle water brown with minimal foam. no lacing or cap. basically like a port wine. at room temperature for the entire pour, i get a faint spirit barrel on the nose along with raisins, prunes and toffee. more toffee and dark fruits on the taste along with dark bread and an extremely strong barrel presence. medium-full mouthfeel that borders on syrupy. really good beer. it’s missing a little bit of maltiness that i would expect given the “style” (BBA Doppelbock) but other than that, this rocks. huge oak bourbon flavors and plenty of toffee, caramel, raisins and other dark fruits. very much enjoyed!

Pours caramel colored, thick with a thin head. Aroma is bourbon and wood. Taste is a bit caramel, followed a strong uptick in bourbon with ABV spray painting the walls of the throat on it's way down. Sweetness is high and there is some molasses overtones. Not for the weak or faint of heart.

Pours a smaller fizzy 1/2 finger tan head mostly large bubbles with med low retention, touch of lacing, good legs, dark mahogany to molasses brown color
Nose starts with plenty of bourbon barrel, sweet barrel juice with buttery oak and rich vanilla, sweet toffee and caramel molasses candy, a bit nutty, toasted malts with some caramel sweet malt and biscuit notes, malt-derived dark fruit esters, raisin fig like, candied date
Taste brings more barrel up front but not overly, toasted buttery oak and vanilla, with some bourbon like barrel juice, quickly into the sweet malts, a tad syrupy, lots of molasses and toffee, biscuity toffee, caramelized dark sugars, toasted malt with some rich sweetbread crust, then more dark fruits, candied fig date, some booze soaked raisins, getting into more rich molasses and a touch of smooth alcohol, sticky sweet finish, more boozy raisin and molasses lingering
MOuth is fuller bod, rich chewy like and a touch syrupy, lighter carb but OK for style, fair warming alcohol but not too hot
Overall quite nice, a very good and enjoyable. I'll see if I can find more and cellar some
