Pours an almost clear, brilliant yellow brew with a very modest head. Aroma is all sorts of citrus --- mainly orange, pineapple and lemon. Taste is clean, sweet and orange and pineapple. This is an enjoyable IPA.

Suds & Buds pours a hazy, darker, copper color, with a medium sized head. Aroma is fruity, floral, and boozy. Flavor is big, thick, fruity, and lots of floral hops, with a bitter finish, lots of grain cereal mixed in as well. Good body and feel.

16oz can. Poured out a slightly hazy, golden orange color with a small, white head of bubbly foam. It left some lacing on the glass and left sediment in the bottom. It smelled of melon, tropical fruit and sweet caramel. Nice tropical fruit taste with a piney bitterness and caramel backbone.

The color is peach-orange, with honey-yellow tones. It has a light white foamy lid that quickly fades. The smell is sweet, with a light tropical fruit emphasis. No specific fruits clearly identify themselves, other than a hint of pineapple and pear. The taste is bitter, with general fruitiness, and a bready aftertaste. The mouthfeel is soupy, thick, full, and quite carbonated. Overall, this beer is a boring high-ABV imperial IPA that is way overpriced. It is lesser than the sum of its parts. I think this is my least favorite IPA brewed by either of these breweries.

Pours a slightly hazed honey color with fingers of eggshell colored head. Below average head retention
S: Super catty, a little cakeyness, a little orange cream sickle
T: Papaya, passion fruit, a little sweet vanilla & orange, plus dryness up front. Weedyness, dryness & more orange cream sickle as this warms, a touch boozey pineapple as well. Plenty of boozey pineapple in the finish, a little cattyness & vanilla
MF: Medium/chewy body, tamped down carbonation, pretty good balance
There are plenty of flavors I like here, I do think they don't necessarily play well together. The sum of all the parts don't really work great together

Love all these hops, but this combo clashes severely. The mouthfeel is very syrupy- drinks like a 15%er.

Cranking it to eleven is going to require some help, so Toppling Goliath teams up with Black Stack brewers for a collaborative beer that nearly gets there. Stopping shy at ten percent in alcohol, their IPA forages a beer that's just as good as their teamwork.
Suds & Buds carries a solid but reasonable haze within a hazy goldenrod hue. With its creamy ivory froth building, the pungent, fruity and peppery herbal scent of citronella, geranium and spruce rolls onto the nose. Dense with maltiness, the early sips deliver a firm grain sweetness of caramel, honey and savory pie crust.
With the malt sweetness relaxing slightly, it makes just enough room for the hops to grow through the center of taste; bringing with them a growing sense of red grapefruit, tangerine, lime and lemon. Citrusy to start, the racy fruits develop a deeper and zesty taste of pineapple, mango and papaya before trending in the direction of peach, apricot and cantaloupe. A late and growing bitterness is deeply resinous with pine, fresh grassiness and a botanical herb nature that's redolent with cannabis and chive.
Earthy, bitter and sticky with resins, the sappy IPA finishes malty-dry and with a long aftertaste of honey dipped pinecone with a spice of gin to boot. This single serve of suds is a portion size meant to share... with a few buds of course.

Copper colored with a hazy complexion. There a half inch of densely packed off white on top. The aroma is of citrus And catty to earthy hops. I’m tasting catty to earthy hops. There a deep long hop burn and the flavor lasts long after the swallow. The mouth is otherwise dense and sticky.

Poured from pint can into proper pint glass.
A: Pours a slightly hazy yellow orange with 2 inch frothy white head with decent retention.
S: Grapefruit, orange, white grape, mango cream, and a hint of pine.
T: Sweet mango and tangerine cream, soft white grape as well as notes of apricot, papaya, and melon. With warming, a nice peach note emerges.
M: Medium body. Smooth, soft, and creamy feel. Layers of citrus, stone fruit, and grape sweetness. ABV is extremely well hidden.
D: Really nice example of style and a wonderful collaboration brew.
