Quality brew, Not Worth the hefty price tag $ but worth a try

 

poured from a 500mL poured from a 500mL bottle into a CW snifter. pours a wet cardboard brown with a thin light brown foam cap. light raspberry, almond, oak and bourbon on the nose. taste follows and as it reaches room temp it has an amaretto-like aroma and flavor to it. some dark bread flavored malts in the background as well. i like this beer’s aromas more than i like the way it tastes. medium-full mouthfeel; syrupy and malty. good doppel but a little too much raspberry sweetness for me. the bourbon and almond are nice compliments to the base doppelbock though.
