Riwaka Dry Hop Pseudo Sue is delicate in body with a mild bitterness in the finish. Ferocious aromas of pineapple & grapefruit give a refreshing taste that is bright with just enough bite!

12 ounce can into willi becher glass, canned on 9/24/2024. Pours very hazy/turbid bright golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with solid retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Minimal lacing. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, mandarin orange, passion fruit, white melon, lime zest, lemon grass, berries, citrus rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, bread, herbal, floral, grass. Moderate pine, citrus rind, woody, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous hops in mouthfeel. Lingering resin dryness with no astringency. Very drinkable with very dank/earthy hop flavor of Riwaka, and nice soft malt backbone for a hazy. Outstanding variation.

Very hazy/cloudy orange gold color with a respectable and lasting white head and some nice lacing.
The aroma is grapefruit mango and pineapple.
The taste is grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, passion fruit, lime and honeydew melon, slightly sweet, definitely tart. The finish is citrus zest with pine and grass, moderate bitterness.
The body is medium, plenty of carbonation, very drinkable. Altogether, this is a very tasty and refreshing brew, definitely for the hop lover but still nicely balanced, this could be nice for a day at the beach, but I would gladly drink it anytime for any reason, the best so far of Pseudo Sue versions, outstanding.

Pouring with a cloudy golden appearance, Riwaka Dry Hop Pseudo Sue pours as common as any in the Sue series. But a rise of fresh, green and fruity hops has the nose trending in citrusy direction. Light cereal sweetness starts of both juicy and dry as the grain character adds a pep of honeysuckle, shortcake and wafer.
But the focus shifts back to the hops quickly as the middle palate is highlighted by citrusy orange, white grapefruit and lime. Wrapped in a juiciness of pineapple juice and honeydew, the bitterness shines late with citrus peel, peppery grasses, pine resins and an acute herbal bite.
Medium bodied and trending dry, the session has the flavor of hazy ale but with the finish of something more traditionally bitter. Its bright character shows that this Riwaka finished version of sue has some teeth.

All of the new pseudoSue dry hop variants are fantastic, but this Riwaka entry may well be my favorite. The seductive aroma makes it clear this one is special, and the juicy hop flavor and pillowy mouth feel seal the deal. They made an all-time great pale ale even better. Outstanding!

Pours a very hazed gold with 2 fingers of beige head. Above average head retention & lacing
S: Tons of mango, passion fruit, guava, a little pineapple, great nose
T: Follows the nose, dryness, some green melon up front. More guava & mango, a kiss coconut as this beer warms up, more pineapple at the edges, plus dryness. Finishes pretty dry with passion fruit, pineapple, lime & a little grassyness
MF: Medium body, fairly creamy carbonation, good balance
Really liked this one, very crushable
