The 3 house beers were pretty mediocre, but selection of others beers was decent. The kind of place where the selection will by no means "wow" you, but I'm sure you can find something interesting and/or different to drink. Food was also kind of meh. Best things about the place was the physical space itself, the views and scenery of the golf course and surrounding mountains, and the fact that the service was attentive and very friendly. Not the best experience ever, but for an area where the pickins's are slim, not a bad option.

Fourth stop on the 'Bro's NC Brewery Tour' - Visited with Bro, Bob Shields and Spanky after a day we rode the Dragon's Tail in Deal's Gap. Nice little sport's bar atmosphere and a selection of three brewed beers. They were good, but not a broad range of choices. Excellent second story view over the golf course.

Da Boss and i stayed at the SM resort. It was convenient to have the restaurant just down the road from us.
Atmosphere was nice with a good over look of the golf course.
Quality of the brews was good. There own brews were just OK but they had world class Belgians available in bottles.
Service was hit and miss. Had a high school kid that served us dinner and drinks??? The bartender who served me for a package takeout was pretty knowledgable and was interested to here my opinion on a brew that i had bought.
Selection was good. Want to say there was at least 10 beers on tap and a good selection of American and Belgian bottles.
Food was pretty good, nothing that knocked my socks off.
Overall it was fairly reasonable price wise. Jackson County, where SMBC is located was a semi-dry county up until early May. So it was a bit quirky in that you really had to plan if you were out and about and wanted to stop for a beer somewhere.

Well, I am glad to see this establishment added for the simple fact it's one of the only places in a dry county where you can be served and buy beer for home consumption. We were visiting the area (Cashiers, NC) and I was looking for beer. We decided to stop in. On draft were Stone Pale, Highlands Gaelic, and several of their own beers (which are contract brewed at a brewery in SC somewhere), among other micros. Also, you can buy 4, 6, and 12 packs. This selection was pretty good and extensive. It was probably about $2 or $3 more than what I would pay in a regular store, but when it's one of the only places in the area to buy beer, you can't be concerned about a couple of bucks! Bottom line, if you are in the area and need beer, check this place out. You might not get special glassware or a whole lot of beer knowledge, but you will get a decent beer, either with your meal or to take home.
