Picked up in a supermarket in Florence on my recent trip through Europe. Notes taken from that time...
Pours opaque black with a pretty mocha head.
Smells of coffee and dark chocolate, slight herbal note. Not too complex but very nice.
Taste has coffee, herbal hops, touch of anise, some dark chocolate, and a very bitter finish. Not quite as nice as the aroma suggested, but still tasty.
Carbonation a little high, but not bad.
This is a solid, tasty stout. The intensely bitter finish was different, though detracted slightly from the overall experience.
