I'm not clear if this is supposed to be soured. Definite tang to it. Not what we expected.

Pours a hazy, dark golden orange color with a one finger off white head that quickly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Streaks of lace left behind.
Slightly earthy aroma with a balance of floral hops, caramel malt and alcohol. Some caramel, biscuit and toffee in the nose with subtle spice as well.
Medium bodied with a very dry and soily hop character that lingers throughout and coats the tongue with resinous pine needle flavor. Not really bitter, just extremely dry and earthy. Strong malt backbone with hits of toffee, biscuit and bread. Mediocre and surprisingly boozy for 5.4%.
