Moderate tropical fruit aroma with notes of passionfruit, mango and lime. A light malt backing adds a nice sweetness to the aroma.
Clear, burnished colour with a persistent creamy head.
A slightly harsh bitterness is lended to this beer by the hops along with a mild herbal and tropical hop character. Curiously, there are no Motueka hops in this beer named solely for the region where the hops are grown. On the positive side, the malt backbone is good.
With medium body and low carbonation from the hand pump, this beer is silky and smooth.
An interesting beer but it lacks a cleaness to the flavour and bitterness that it needs to get me to have another.
