Bottle from a local shop in auckland.
Was surprised to see Her majesty 2011 listed in here, but not 2010... so, here goes. Label says this is a Dubbel or a strong Belgian dark ale, but it really just is what it is. After the first sniff, put it under a Dubbel.
Pours a dark dark brown almost black color with a finger of head and gorgeous lacing...
Smells like a Dubbel.... a hint of chocolate, cinnamon, but really, just a very clean nose of a dubbel.
taste is interesting, it does have a hint of the chocolate and cinnamon, but has a finish that is almost watery. nice belgian duppel yeast in there as well. Mouthfeel is light to medium...
Nothing fantastic, good beer, especially for NZ, but not great, especially for the price of around $20 or more.
