“Zhiguli Barnoe Barhatnoe” – bottom fermentation dark beer with a slight sweetness emphasized by a tangy and a bit burnt aftertaste. This kind of beer has a soft while at the same time intense taste typical for the Czech style “Tmavy Lezak”.

Normal dunkel. Red-brown color, medium off-white head. Aroma of caramel and roasted sugar. Caramel in sweet taste with a pleasant bitterness towards the end. Not too bad.

Pours reddish brown color with huge creamy head. Smells roasted malts and sugar, rye croutons. The taste is faint, sour, alcoholic. No reason to drink it.

Pours dark amber/brown, just a thin tan head that turns into a lasting sticky lace.
Nice smell with lots of roasted cereals (as to be expected, apparently they use 6 different malts), some caramel, dark bread, hint of chocolate and some faint dark fruit esters.
Taste is malty rich, with toasted grains, dry rye, faint roast, a bit of caramel and a dust of cocoa powder. Some faint raisin in the back, bit of walnut, but not much else. Nice sweetness, not syrupy, and gets washed away in the finish that has some spicy dry rye and a tiny pinch of bittering hops.
Light body, smooth, low carbonation, very easy to drink for its malty richness.
A nice treat, quite tasty, well done.
Not a "rye beer", probably a kind of specialty grain dunkel lager.
