Pint at MJ Barleyhoppers. Clear, pale golden, kind of flat. Light grainy aroma. Taste is more of the grains. Really comes off as more of a golden but ok.

i quite enjoyed this kolsch here, clean and simple, fresh and good, brewed to be quite traditional, and its very drinkable and refreshing, enjoyed at their old downtown brewpub space, but i dont think they are making beer here anymore. in any event, this is clear and minimal looking in the glass, yellow toned, bright and light, short white head on top. it smells fresh, mineral heavy, lightly crackery, european on the grain side but fresh, crisp like a lager, and with just soft grassy notes from the hops, delicate even for a lighter style. the beer pops with carbonation even though it looks kind of mellow, its very active on the palate and i like that in a kolsch. i also like the bitterness from the hops at the end, subtle, but its helps this finish fast and be really clean. it tastes very organic and natural to me, very true to style, and quite well made, especially for a brewery you never really hear anything about. i like this a lot, had a good time in here, and reckon the citizens of pullman are lucky to have these guys around. way better than the local average for the style here. great lunch beer!

Cloudy amber brew with an enthusiastic pile of sticky white foam in the chalice. There is a serious amount of sediment in the bottom of the bottle. Sweet and malty with just a touch of resiny bitterness. It has a big perfumey taste but not a typical crisp Kölsch by any means.

I'd describe this beer as a cross between a Kölsch and a Zwickelbier, the unfiltered lager. But it's so malty it tastes like a big fat Blonde ale with a yeast problem. But in any case it's lots of fun for a different and mouth-filling brew. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham.
