Drinking a UK style pint glass at Blackbird in Spokane. I thought I'd had this and reviewed it already.
Pitch black in color, with a creamy looking tan head. Lots of lace.
The dark malts are the most dominant part of the aroma. There's also a definite bitter hop aroma, but this smells closer to a hoppy stout than an IPA.
Way more hoppy tasting than smelling. It still tastes like a hoppy stout but it's much closer to being balanced than the nose led me to believe.
Coating and oily mouthfeel.
I really like this beer. I think it checks more boxes as a hoppy, robust stout than as an IPA, but man, it's good. I will drink this again.
