L: A deep reddish orange hue, opaque but not murky or cloudy in appearance. Pours to a healthy two finger warm beige frothy head that gradually dissipates to a thick ring around the glass.
S: Wow. Ginger for sure, but equally smelling of juniper berries. There are hints of coriander here and even dill pickle. Looking this up out of curiosity shows these last two are characteristic of the sorachi ace hops.
T: No dill, but ginger ale goodness with a thicker malt than you'd ever find in one of them, juniper astringency and coriander makes it's way to the tongue. Very interesting. Maybe lemon or lime also. Original combination of flavors to my knowledge.
F: The weight and malty mouthfeel are much greater than expected. This sets it apart from a ginger ale, but also takes away from the refreshing expectation that comes with these flavors.
O: Good, but not a hot day lawn mowing beer like I had hoped for. If you are into these flavors you will like it - if not be advised this is a powerful brew for the palate!
