according to the lady behind the bar they are still working on this one, and it has changed a bit from batch to batch. the current iteration is extremely mild on the sourness, and while it is clean and seemingly well done from a technical standpoint, there isnt enough of it to really make this beer as distinctive and refreshing as gose normally is, not enough acidity to cut all the wheat in here, and it seems a little bland and heavy for the style. the wheat malt is fresh, but its also fairly sturdy, and more sourness would really help lighten it up. nice lemony freshness to the lacto too, so more of it would be welcomed, none of the normal young brewery trying a sour sweaty or cheesy off flavors, very tidy with it. the other side of this though, is that it probably is a little more approachable and has wider appeal than a lot of sours, even most gose types, and this could serve as a great introduction to them for those not yet on board. this is not a far jump from american pale wheat ale, especially one served with a citrus wedge, and i could see it making some converts. a bit plain for me, but well made.
