Clear golden color with a decent foam in the Affligem chalice. This is not the most aromatic of beers, for actually sniffing the stuff, especially with all the hops. Quite sudsy with each pour. A little sharp on the tongue. Cascade, Centennial, and Meridian hops according to the label.
Light malt taste with a touch of biscuits and honey. Pleasant creamy mouthfeel with the aromatics filling the nose as you sip. Light melon taste with a sharper note and a touch of passion fruit and apple. This just seems like an excellent balance of hop flavors with a more drinkable bitterness.
I think they are on to something that seems to be in the wind lately-- more hops, less bitterness. I have to admit that the Hess beers seem to be getting better, compared to three years ago, and this is a good example. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Bine & Vine for five bucks. They should swap this for one of their other less interesting canned beers.

Had a taster at the Miramar brewery in San Diego. Bitter taste. I'll stick with the Habittus double IPA. My favorite.
