Pours yellow with a light amount of haze through it. White head, 1/5". Aroma hits those lemon and wheat notes.
Taste was mild, kind of the opposite of the trend of a lot of berliners, where they are just wild ales that are way more sour than a traditional berliner weisse. Well this one turns the other direction, it manages to be mild for even a traditional berliner weisse in terms of sour and tartness. Still light bodied mouth feel though and checks all the boxes for a berliner. In fact, I appreciate having one mild given the trend to imperialize and weaponize everything into a wild ale.
At the end of the day though, the bomber format turns this into probably a more expensive beer than I want to splurge on again. If I see it on tap, sure let's check it out one more time. This is also the base version one with no fruit, despite the appearance of a review maybe saying otherwise.

September 24th, 2015 - This berliner weisse with a twist of pomegranate is a nice fruity twist on a salty, sour brew. The smell is light, but gives off a touch of fresh laundry linen and just a touch of lemon, and it is quite tangy. But also quite flat. It's not a thin beer, but directly under carbonated, with a candied flavor and aftertaste. The smell is promising, but after a sip or two, this ends up being a dud.

On tap. Look is pale yellow and clear. Smell light salt and lemon. Taste is mildly citric sour, lemon again. Decent effort at the style, certainly a restrained effort.

I am not very familiar with a Bernliner Weiss but the style notes are as follows "The taste is refreshing, tart, sour and acidic, with a lemony-citric fruit sharpness and almost no hop bitterness." And that is exactly what this tastes like. Zero head, tons of carb (akin to soda pop) no malt, bit time lemon/citrus bomb - I am not even sure there is any alcohol in this cuz the lemon blast flavor pretty much cancels everything out. I don't normally say I "hate" a particular beer but this one is an exception. I have to say though, if you are a fan of this style then I am guessing you'd love this beer but I on the other hand do not. Soooo take this with a grain of salt (and a slice of lemon)
