Mike Hess Brewing - Miramar

August 5th, 2016 - It's Hess Fest time in North Park, I've got batch six in a glass. Spider Man appears to have sneezed on the top, where a thick web of off-white foam resists stalwartly against the pressures of the atmosphere, and guards the brunette brew underneath. The smell is aged, old and wise, and wrinkled with dried stone fruits - specifically peach and nectarine. The flavor is also quite chewy and toothsome, with more spice than found in the aroma, and basket fulls of dried fruits. These are further decorated with ginger and sweet carrot, adding a much appreciated depth to an already rich beer.
