The beer after departing the 12-ounce brown bottle sets in the glass a reddish-brown with a fair to middling frothy light tan head that evaporates quickly leaving a sufficient sheet of lace to cover the glass. Nose is all malt, a bit astringent and the start slightly sweet with a light grain profile and the top light in its feel to the palate. Finish is crisply acidic and the hops adequate in their spiciness, very dry, drinkable.

Solid brown color with a nice creamy beige head ... then it's all downhill from there ... OXIDIZED aroma and taste in all 3 bottles I recieved. Will have to re-review if I ever find again.
Yet another bad/oxidized beer from the MJ American Brewpub Tour.... based on the "03' embossed on bottom of the bottles, I'd say they sent old beers in this case.
Per G.B.Co. website: Primarily European malts and three different hops. Hopping is assertive although not high in bitterness at 30 EBU (European Bitterness Units). Starting gravity is a little over 13° Brix, with final gravity around 2° Brix. The alcohol level is around 5.8% by volume. Our Amber is brewed to be in the English Extra Special Bitter class.

This ale has a nice amber color with a small brownish head that vanishes in moments.
It has a light malty smell. Nothing of great significance.
I think I got some bad bottles of this ale. This is the second one I've had that is quite sour in taste. Checking other reviews here and reading the brewery's site makes me believe that this is not the flavor they intended. It reminds me of the sharpness in a Flanders Red style. Greenshields doesn't mention this being in that vein. And for some reason I keep noticing an aftertaste of mushrooms. Weird.
Stay away from this beer until the brewer gets the QA under control.
