A 500ml bottle with a BB of July 2018. Purchased a little while back from ALDI. The label calls it a rich roasted stout.
A: Poured into a pint mug. A very dark brown hue that appears virtually black in the glass. Yields a large head of creamy tan foam that lasts for a while before settling as a persistent surface layer. Some lacing.
S: Aroma of rich molasses with hints of dark malt, subtle roasted grain, faint coffee, ale yeast and vague stewed leaves. OK though quite subdued for a stout.
T: Tastes of dark malt with notes of mild roasted grain, molasses, faint coffee, a hint of chocolate, ale yeast and subtle stewed leaves. Quite sweet, followed by a delicate malty bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and lightly tingly, with soft carbonation and a somewhat insubstantial body for the style. Bordering on watery. Aftertaste of mild roasted malt, molasses, faint coffee, ale yeast and subtle stewed leaves.
O: While not completely devoid of character, this is a bit subpar for a stout. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour are an understated blend of molasses, dark malt, mild roasted grain and ale yeast. On the sweet side. So-so body; too thin. Drinkable but doesn't leave much of an impression. No need to hunt it down.

Very dark brown. Thick, frothy tan head.
Sweet coffee aroma. Vanilla notes.
Tastes like the smell only far less so. Some burnt toast bitterness.
Rather thin.
Finally disappointing.

Bottled
Pitch black body with fairly decent frothy tan head
Rich creamy treacle and coffee aroma
The flavour is there with a touch of liquorice and amonia
Slightly watery then again it's only just over 4% & only just over £1
