Tried this beer on cask at my local Wetherspoon's pub, East End London.
A: pours a clear, dark-amber hue with a brownish hint; a sponge-like beer head full of big, loose bubbles but sustains pretty well; low carbonation.
S: mildly citrusy hops at the front, a soft caramel-maltiness reveals after swirling--a bit overly simplistic.
T: upfront a slightly sour-fruity taste hits the palate, followed by a flow of floral, wild-flowery and licorice-like flavour of hops packing lots of herbal bitterness, prevailing on the palate as well as lying deep down the tongue later on--the bitterness absolutely steals the stage after the mid-flavour and lingers well towards the very end.
M: overall the mouthfeel is soft, even mellow; though nice it is, it could use a bit more fizz to lift up and balance the rather heavy biterness deep down the palate.
D: not too bad, but overall it shows a simplistic profile which couldn't persuade me for a second pint.
