Cask 1/3 pint, gravity dispense, at the 16th Twickenham Beer & Cider Festival. Golden colour, white head. Pleasant aroma of fruity hops. The flavour is fruity, but also dryish and "dusty". Easy drinking and refreshing.

Cask pint at Marborough Head. Pours straw with medium head that quickly dissipates leaving just a few spots. Nose is mostly missing...grainy with weak UK hops. Flavor is light and crisp with a slightly off flavour in the finish. A bit watery. Really uninspired. Overall, drinkable bit forgettable. Wouldn't buy again.

I'm sure there is a taste to this beer, butit is lost in the watering down that happens right before bottling. Disappointing both in bottle and cask form with no body. There is nothing 'bad' about this beer, but nothing good either.

Clear deep gold color with small white foam. Aromas sweet perfumy of flowers, hops and light malty caramel and lighter malts. Palate, medium body with smooth texture leaving simple finish. Taste, sweet-ish, tastes of grassy lager hops and light malts, fairly basic. Overall, not bad, drinkable, easy going, to sum it up, it is like a pale lager that is well done and with slightly more enhanced flavours, but thats about all.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Oct 2013. Acquired from a supermarket some time back. Described on the label as a golden ale hopped with Amarillo.
Poured into a straight pint glass. A golden-amber colour with medium carbonation. Contains chunky floating sediment that looks like coagulated protein. Forms a decent head of frothy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before dissipating. Aroma of light, grainy malt with hints of mild citrus, stewed hops and fruity ale yeast. OK but not much going on.
Tastes of light malt with a dry finish. Notes of mild grain, indistinct citrus, stewed hops and faint ale yeast. A restrained, dry bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with spritzy carbonation and a light, insubstantial body. Dries the palate. Somewhat astringent, followed by an aftertaste of earthy yeast and bitter stewed hops.
S'OK. Some hop character but this hardly breaks the mould. Looks rather lacklustre, with strange floaties. The aroma and flavour are a bit better; balanced and possessing a hint of citrus. Body is alright but perhaps too carbonated. An average, uneventful golden ale. Nothing special - no need to seek it out.

Clear, golden color. Small head that fades quickly and leaves minimal lacing.
Nice, balanced aroma. Some earthy hops and bready malts. Nothing special.
Taste is disappointing. A bit of malt in the front, some zesty, lemony flavor in the middle and a dry aftertaste.
Light and soft body with medium carbonation. No alcohol presence at all.
Overall I didn't enjoy this beer. It looks and smells fine but it really lacks some taste.

500ml bottle: best before the end of Oct 2013, poured into an 'Old Speckled Hen' pint vase on 16 Mar 2013.
It looked fine: light amber, almost lager-like in its clarity, on top a smooth head of white foam. Rising carbonisation bubbles could clearly be seen throughout the tasting and the head left some lacing as the beer level sank.
Hops rule the nose: citrusy and spicy, floral notes too.
The taste is a little to lemony/citrusy for me, with slight biscuity/toffee flavours: a lemon tart feel to the brew maybe. Refreshing but not my sort of thing.
Body depth is Ok for a 3.8% brew and it is easy to drink, but I'm a malts man and this doesn't do it for me. I've complained and bleeted about citrusy golden brews in the UK for a couple of years now: this one is towards the upper end of my liking, the semi-sweet undertones have saved it from a crappy score.

The appearance was light straw with a thin head that quickly disipated leaving little evidence it had ever existed. Smell was light malt and herbal hops: very light.
Flavor was bigger than the smell: a nice strong sweetness delivered with biscuit malts and a strong bitterness of a real ale. The first half pint disappeared and I quickly ordered a full pint. Must have been a faulty halfpint glass [wink]. Playfully bitter. Mouthfeel was light and thin, but makes up for it in drinkability and low alcohol content.
Seek out Robinson's brews. They can be difficult to find, but they will reward your efforts.
This review is from notes taken September 16, 2009. I've waited a few months for the BA boys to add Robinsons Family Brewers to the db. After disappointing macro-brewed Scottish Ales and vile mass market stout, this light-bodied low-alcohol blonde bitter was a welcome respite. I'm not sure how I would review it now, surrounded as I am by American pale ales, IPAs, and doubles, but at the time it was remarkable and wonderfully sessionable. As I was enjoying this Dizzy Blond, the Fisherman's Tavern in Broughty Ferry filled with locals, traveling salemen, tourists, and students who kept the place full, humming, and interesting until closing, and so this has as much to do with the experience of the moment as of the beer. One of my favorite memories of Scotland.
