On tap at the Framingham location. Served with a cinnamon sugar rimmer. Mahogany with a clean white head. There was (again) no aroma to speak of except for the cinnamon on the rimmer. The flavor was pretty standard for a Winter Ale: cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, more cinnamon, a dash of ginger and orange peel, and more cinnamon. There was a great malt sweetness that I assume is attributable to the honey and caramel malt. Didn't blow my socks off, but then again you can only take so much cinnamon...

Growler filled at the brewpub.
Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a 1/2" beige head over the clear orangey brown brew. Head is down to a skim of froth pretty quick, with sticky lasting lace. Aroma is sedately of spices and grains. Taste follows the nose, balancing malt sweetness with spices, nothing too overpowering. Spice tinges also linger on the lips and in the mouth after the swallow. Mouthfeel is clean, and drinkability is easy. Not the biggest fan of spices in my beer, but this one pulls it off casually, without driving anyone away.
