Hefty looking, deep amber/ruby color. Smooth and creamy layer of tight foam. Intricate lace. Aroma consists of graham crackers, sweet wort, multi-grain bread, trace alcohol. Big emphasis on malt flavor, starting out semi-sweet, shifting to roasted, then an alcohol warming finish. Substantial malt backbone. Very drinkable for a strong ale. The original Allsopp family brewers would be proud of this. Another gem found in the John Bull Pub, Monza, Italy. Per favore, ancora birra doppio malto rossa! cin cin!
