Pours an amber colour, clear with dense cream-colour head. Slow bead through the body. Looks nice.
Sweet and spicy on the nose. Caramel with distinct clove and a touch of cinnamon. Simple for the style but some good characters.
Taste is sweetish upfront. Caramel malt with a touch of walnut. Herbal on the late-mid, with a spicy finish. Clove, star anise; yeah decent Belgian spice characters. Tastes a bit empty though, unfortunately.
Thin body for the ABV; carbonation comes through a little tingly. Seems a bit incongruous.
Decent flavours, but for a strong ale it's quite timid.
