Clear golden colour with a creamy, white head. Decent head retention.
Lightly piney and hoppy but lacking in overall depth.
Bitter. Slightly sweet. Harsh. Not all that pleasant and lacking real hop flavour.
Medium body with moderate carbonation. Fine.
A poor IPA for my taste. No real hop character and a harsh bitterness.

Pours a golden amber colour with off-white head. Decent retention, has a thin crown remaining after a couple of minutes. Nice-looking IPA.
Slight nutty edge to the malt on the nose; fair hit of US hops that are quite resiny and dry up quite a bit. Fairly simple for an IPA, like dry nuts, mostly. Some hops but could use more.
Similar characters on the palate. Nutty malt with noticeable but still subdued US hops. Citrus, pine and not quite enough hops for an IPA. Overall just tastes a bit simple, and the flavours are nice enough to make me want more.
Nice mouthfeel though. Full body with a decent carbonation tingle. Lots of presence in the mouth.
I would like more hops, but otherwise not bad.

On-tap at GABS in Melbourne.
Pours a deep golden colour, quite clear, with just a touch of haze to it. Firm body and a solid white head. Decent lacing and light carbonation. Not bad.
Aroma is really unexpected: instead of the "Californian" hop characters they describe, I get earthy, dusky notes of tea and tanins, with a pungent mulchy vegetation note. It's really far from the description.
Taste is based around some grainy malt character with little smoothness. There's a touch of sweet hop fragrance coming through on the centre, before it devolves again into a tannic earthy bitterness on the finish. Aftertaste is surprisingly cloying.
It's not a bad drop overall, but it claims to be something it's not. Don't believe the marketing!
