Copenhagen 21/6 2022. 33 cl bottle from Craft Makers Collective web-shop. Somber label with a pair of antlers with a gloomy green light shining behind it.
Pours murky maroon with a small off-white head. A lot of flotsam and jetsam whirling about. Settles as a thin but unbroken layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intensewith sweet, sugary and with a whiff of dark fruits. Raisins and prunes. Brown sugar in abundance. Sweet port wine and alcohol.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, bit grainy and lumpy, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is more bitter with a lighter sweet undertone. Lingering. Finish is semi-dry.
Not exactly pretty but a fine Christmas treat without indulging in an excess of Christmas spices.
