Poured from a beautiful 750ml bottle that adorns hop flowers on the label, into a teku. Once poured, it seems as if the label is deceiving. Categorized as an IPA, it pours a hazy amber color. It's definitely darker and more amber than any American IPA that I've had. The aroma also makes me think this should be an amber ale, as bread malt and a decent amount of caramel are the main players here, certainly more so than an hop character. Hops are definitely present too, giving a nice bitter pine note and some grapefruit citrus. The bottle was dated, but not legible as all. As an import from Italy, I imagine it isn't nearly as fresh as the typical American IPA I can get almost anywhere. Maybe it has a stronger hop presence when it is first bottled. Otherwise, this is a sub-par IPA, and not what I was hoping for, as this comes off as a premium beer with a premium price.
