Rochester Mills Bourbon Barrel Aged Barley Wine

This is a wonderfully crafted beer. The appearance is dark but in classical rite with other sweet, high ABV type beers. Chocolate brown with a minimal head. The smell was sweet and aromatic but not overpowering. Taste was also very sweet with the bourbon nicely offsetting the carmel and, to use a wine idiom, terroir. Brief linger of taste however not distractingly so. Mouth feel was indicative of the higher specific gravity this beer was most likely brewed with; heavy and highly viscous. Overall, if you happen to try this beer, you will definitely appreciate this wonderful barley wine.
