Form the can in a pint glass. This amber pours a crystal clear light amber with a moderate head of white dissipating foam that settles to a thin layer, modest ring, and light lacing. Subtle nose of caramel and nutty grains mixed with some heavy malts. Taste follows the nose with cloyingly sweet caramel malts, nutty grain notes, and thick syrup, almost a light maple flavor and a touch of zippy bittering hops. Sweet aftertaste with a touch of bitter hop kick, finish is sweet and grainy; a muddle between dry and clean. Moderate carbonation. Not stellar but a solid offering in a can.

Saw some conflicting reviews on the regular Lazy Daze lager so I looked it up on the Rochester Mills website and the Amber Lazy Daze is definitely a different animal then the regular Lazy Daze.
Appearance: Pours with a light brown, amber red color. Finger of head on the pour which settled in but was present while drinking. Sticky lacing left behind at each level. Active carbonation is very bright, above average for the style.
Smell: Grains and molasses hit first. The grains continue into the body with a sort of synthetic dry aroma with some lighter, sweet additions of caramel malts. A peanut butter sort of nuttiness is prevalent on the body as well.
Taste: Dry grains and caramel warm on the palate first. Nutty body, sticky texture that is familiar with peanut butter. Dry grass and some mossy hops show up and ride through into the finish. Amber malts and some more nutty flavors sit on the palate after drinking.
Mouthfeel: Dry, with some interesting hop textures and lingering sticky malts. Carbonation could be a touch brighter.
Overall: I don't mind having this in the fridge as an occasional change of pace. I bought this to try something local while I was in Michigan, and also because of the awesome 16oz 6pk format. I would certainly try more from Rochester Mills in the future.
