Brewed with a precisely calculated “mountain of hops” to exploit the gravitational pull of today’s craft beer drinker toward the big and delightful bitterness bliss commonly found in American Double IPAs of the highest caliber.

Newton’s ALEchemy gets the bulk of its flavor from Pure Michigan™ Cascade hops grown just a few miles up the road from the brewery. It’s smooth bitterness is derived from the power of Magnum hops. The brew is finished with dry hopped additions of Citra & Calypso hops for a complex fruity, citrusy aroma. The result is truly liquid Gold, the elusive quest of Newton and alchemists of his day.

Pretty darn good. Not the best example of the style, and contains a bit more yeast sediment than I prefer but still well worth drinking. Citrus hops are the whole show. But that's not a bad thing b

16 ounce can into tulip glass, best before 7/14/2016. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of huge tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, peach, mango, melon, passion fruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fantastic aromas with awesome complexity and balance of juicy/dank citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, peach, mango, melon, passion fruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, peach, mango, melon, passion fruit, lemon/orange rind, pine, honey, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy/dank citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness that increases through the glass; becoming slightly astringent on bitterness, but not overbearing. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, sticky/resinous, and fairly creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an excellent DIPA! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy/dank citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

It is perfect. The only problem is the gravity...it tastes so good and is so drinkable it's a bummer that it is so strong because I want to drink it all night long.

A - Pours a hazy golden orange with a two finger white head. The head leaves some soapy lacing.

S - Aroma is tangerine, floral hops, and light caramel malts.

T - The flavor starts with tangerine, gratefruit, and caramel malts. The sweetness fades into dank hops. The finish has a light lingering bitterness.

M - Medium bodied with medium carbnation. Soft smooth mouthfeel.

O - This is a decent DIPA. Very smooth and easy drinking especially at 8.8%.

Heard good thinks about this one. Couldn't wait to try. I was slightly dissapointed. It has a nice thick golden look to it but not much for smell. It tasted ok but I'm not a big fan of ipas in a can. Didn't care for hopslam that much in a can either. I'm thinking this would be better if bottled but that's just my opinion.
