Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a solid murky red to brown color with a finger’s worth of tan foamy head. Spotty lace. The aroma had strong maple, some wood, light bourbon, caramel/toffee notes, subtle nuts. Light leafy/earthiness at the very end. The flavor leaned into the sweetness of it all. Sly little sticky sweet aftertaste running into the finish. The feel was about medium bodied with a good sipping quality about it. Some carbonation was felt but nothing barring drinkability. ABV felt good. Fairly smooth, not cloying as some of these maple beers tend to do that. Overall, nice barrel aged brown ale well worthy of having again if I could get it.

A super light brown pour, almost blonde...not promising for a brown ale. Almost no head, just a sliver circling the top.
Aroma mostly of wet oak and weak malts. A strong effort of inhaling reveals some faint brown sugar. As it warms it develops antiseptic aromas.
Has a strong solid malt base, very delicious, but fades quickly to wet oak and hot bourbon fairly quickly. The brown sugar/maple syrup notes are faint and pop in and out every once in awhile. Some faint vanilla/sarsaparilla also peeking through.
Feel is rather thin for what I'd consider a barrel aged beer, and ends very hot and boozy. Mostly dry.
Overall, it's an okay beer, but I'm not inclined to say much more than that. For being a barrel aged, maple syrup brown ale, one should expect way better. Instead you get a product that's barely better than most $6.99/6 pack shelf turds.

Poured from pint can to can glass. Big Bourbon aromas right up front, with agitation bringing out maple, nutty, and bready notes. Aroma becomes more compex and enjoyable as it warms. No head, no lacing. Thin feel, dries on the palate. Flavors of maple, toffee, dry roasted almond, bourbon, and dark bread. Booze isn't overpowering, which is a pleasant surprise.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, best before 3/19/2017. Pours lightly hazy reddish/copper/light brown color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, maple, toffee, brown sugar, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, brown bread, light chocolate/nuttiness, and oak/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, maple syrup, and bourbon barrel notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, maple, toffee, brown sugar, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, brown bread, light chocolate/nuttiness, and oak/toasted earthiness. Light herbal bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, maple, toffee, brown sugar, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, brown bread, light chocolate/nuttiness, and oak/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, maple syrup, and bourbon barrel flavors; with a great malt and bourbon/oak spiciness balance, with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from bourbon/oak spiciness as well. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, lightly silky, and slightly chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden, a light warmth lingers after the finish; with no barrel booziness. Overall this is a great barrel aged brown ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, maple syrup, and bourbon barrel flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

This was the 3rd of the 4 I've tried again on par with the sweet milk stout but liked the maple Brown slightly better. This 4 pk has far exceeded my expectations.
