Even more abundant with citrusy, fruity loopy-like hop aroma and flavor, this idiosyncratic Double India Pale Ale is deep orange in color and presents with a pleasantly soft mouthfeel. This is beautiful. What is that, Velvet?

Ok, calling this one a New England IPA is misleading like Jessica Alba calling herself a blonde. You take one look, and you just know, you know? This thing is not New England; it’s not hazy, it’s not even close. That being said, like Beckham when he played for the Galaxy, it’s not all that bad. I’d say it’s more Midwest like Steve Yzerman scoring a hat trick for the Red Wings. It’s malty, it has a honey aspect... Goddamn it’s a hell of a lot better than HopSlam. What this is, what Rochester Mills is going for, I don’t know. But I’ll drink it and I’ll think of greater things.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, best before 10/27/2018. Pours moderately hazy golden orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance aromas of big tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, white bread dough, light honey/caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, white bread dough, light honey/caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, white bread dough, light honey/caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, fairly sticky, and slightly resinous/rindy mouthfeel that is great. Mildly increasing warmth of 8.5% after the finish. Overall this is an excellent NEDIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish, never aggressive. Great showcase of Denali and Ekuanot. Very juicy and fairly dank hop complexity; sizable malt backbone, but not overly sweet/heavy feeling with adequate lingering bitter dryness. Nice soft feel for the style. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example. Loved the hop profile as expected.

Poured from the can into a stemmed glass a slightly hazy honey tinged gold with a full one finger white head atop.Apricot and mango aromas stick out to me mainly,a quite sweet in the nose.Citrus punch on the palate but with an alcoholic kick in the finish, tropical mango with a slight resin note in the finish along with a bit of fresh cut grass.Def a newer IPA style with it's tropical sweet fruitiness,it does get a bit sweet after awhile but it's par for the course in the new NE style IPA world.
