Review from notes. Beer 1 of the Rochester Mills Milk Stout Holiday Pack. Served cold into a pint glass.
Appearance - Dark brown, two fingers of light tan head. Good staying power and some sparse lacing.
Smell - Hints of coffee, marshmallow and brown sugar with some earthy undertones. None of this is terribly intense however.
Taste - Similar to the nose, but flavors seem even more washed out. The sweetness is vague of brown sugar and marshmallow, the coffee is there but not really intense. A bit watery to be frank.
Mouthfeel - Medium-light bodied, soft carbonation, easy to drink but doesn't have the palate coating ability of a good milk stout.
Overall - A bit of a letdown, hoping that the other brews are a little better. If this is the worst of the bunch, I'm going to end up happy, so it will be wait and see.

Pours a deep brown black with a foamy two finger head. Upon break there is little left but a few wisps of foam. Some minor lacing.
Smell is rather simple for the style... chocolate, coffee and lactose. Lives up to the latte moniker.
Taste is some light coffee and chocolate, then a sweet lactose finish. Not a lot going on here.
Feel is about right, if not a little light, for the style. Medium-light weight with lower carbonation. Finish is coffee and cigarettes, but not in a bad way.
A simple concept that falls short a little. I think they wanted that burst of coffee and cocoa, but what turned out was milder than that. An easy to drink beer nonetheless. Give it a whirl, YMMV.
