Ale brewed with pure Michigan maple syrup from Nelson Maple Products in Imlay City. An honest brew working hard to balance a malty body with a hoppy finish.

Pours a copper color with a foamy tan head that lasts quite a while. Aroma is maple syrup. Taste is sweet but finishes with a hoppy bitterness. Good mouth feel.

16oz can stamped 05/13/20 (presumably best by) poured into a tulip pint glass at fridge temp 6.5% ABV 60 IBU. The beer pours terribly chunky light brown with khaki colored head. Hideous beer. Total snow globe with a solid 1/8" of settled debris in the bottom of the glass. The aroma is faint with pine and a touch of malt. The taste is semisweet malt with hoppy, piney bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, less than a mediocre home brew. Minimal nose, ugly & full of sediment with amateur taste. Anyone who would put this in a can won't get any further business from me.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, best before 5/1/2020. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/copper/light reddish color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky cream colored head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, light chocolate/cocoa, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and dark/bready/light roasted malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, light chocolate/cocoa, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, light chocolate/cocoa, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and dark/bready/light roasted malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and minimal lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is an excellent hoppy American brown ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and dark/bready/light roasted malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the moderately bitter/resinous/drying finish; not overly aggressive. Great Galena, Mt. Rainier, Amarillo, Chinook profile. Very vibrant, dank, earthy hops; with a nicely rich dark/bready malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and impressively well made style example. No complaints.
