neat little english pale here, a little hazy, almost english pale meets farmhouse, but that could be the vibes here, literally drinking this in a centuries old farmhouse at the brewery, such a sick place! this is cool from the beer engine, unexpected here, frothy creamy white head from the cask on top of washed out orange body, no visible sediment but looks frosted over. the nose and taste are not fully english to me, well the grain seems right, nutty and a little caramelized, but the yeast is more bread yeast than beer yeast to me almost, and i do get a little saison type ester to it, although i still wouldnt really call this fermentation forward. the hops maybe dont seem all that bright or fresh, but definitely have some bitterness, a green tea note, and they are nice with the malt, good balance. this is simple beer, and in some ways unrefined, even raw, but its also got some terroir to it thats special, like having this in a bar and not knowing what the brewery looks like or is all about, would maybe be underwhelming, but on site and with some info, its really cool to drink on. still, probably my least favorite from our visit here, just not really what i know and love these guys for, but smooth and drinkable and very much from the earth, english but also distinct to this place. among their most approachable brews.

Recently stumbled across my notes from The Festival 2012. Lets do this!
A - Poured a light golden colour with some super light haze. Thin off white head that leaves no lace and a slight blanket.
S - Light floral hops, gentle herbal notes, mild malt, some slight earthy qualities too.
T - Taste is alright, fair amount of fruit esters, light caramel and toffee, fruit tastes a bit "forced".
M - Mouthfeel is alright, typical for an english pale with moderate carbonation.
O - Overall, an okay beer. Slightly one dimensional.

Curiosity got the best of me at Moeder Lambic and I decided to go Spanish for a tick. Hopefully it works better than the few Spanish imports that I can get in the US. On to the beer:
Toasted orange and a soapy head create the look of this Spanish pale ale. The head retention is okay, doesn't leave much lace on the glass. The aroma of fruit gums and a kiss of diacetyl and grain shows that there's some complexity to smell, and luckily, this trend continues into the taste. There's a pleasant fruit flavor first, then gummi fruits. Bits of caramel dab their way into the beer. Slight toasted grain note, so it's not as fruity as it initially was. The body is light with a low level of carbonation.
Here's a solid little ale out of Spain. I had almost written off the country for good craft beer, but Pura Pale brings a glimmer of hope to me.

On-tap. Pint glass. Some 500ml bottles have been enjoyed too since sep´11. Golden yellow color, chill haze appearance. Off-white froth & foamy crown. Fairly good retention. Floral, mild maltiness, herbal touches & citric to the nose, earthy notes too. Rough bitterness followed by slightly lemony flavor cleans your mouth, helpfully fruity/estery hues & toffee texture balance the overall tasting profile. Moderate grainy & astringent in the middle. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Dry bitter finish rounded by subtle woody/resiny aftertaste. Easy drinkability. A real Artisan Ale.

Served in a tiny snifter. Beer is hazy and amber to yellow with a wispy white head, minimal lacing, low carbontion. Looks good.
Aroma is sweet and mildly spicy. Minimal hops, mild citrus, some earth.
Beer is medium to light in body, creamy on the mouth, mildly bitter, mildly dry finish, overall nice feeling but it is a blandish pale ale, nothing wrong with it though but it didn't knock my socks, but maybe that's what it was going for.

Pours a Hazy-yellow colour, with a constant white head. The apareance is so nice, because of colour, and the yeast clouds floating around the glass. Smell is spicy, with light hops, and some citrus. Flavour is full mouth, so malty, with these citrus notes, some bananas, and it´s got a light fruity flavour. Some hops comes in the finish. Very good ale, from a very nice brewery.

The beer pours an orange-yellow color with a huge white head. The aroma is flowers, orange citrus and some toffee. The flavor is similar with citrus and toffee notes in addition to some earthy hops. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
