Copenhagen 27/12 2020. 33 cl bottle from Voldby Købmandsgaard web-shop. Golden brown label with small pictograms of hop flowers.

Pours opaque dark brown with a mid-sized light beige head. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.

Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, earthy odor mingling with a light peaty scent. Brown sugar, lactic sweetness, toffee. Subtle smoke. Leather and soil.

Light carbonation. Medium thick, soft, smooth, fat, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed and balanced by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a solid touch of alcohol. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.

Fine not too sweet Imperial Porter with a boozy touch and a light smoky touch.

Sample on tap at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Black colour, large tan head. Roasty aroma and flavour, mild coffee, hints of liquorice. Richer mouthfeel than the old 5.8% version. A hint of smoke in the aftertaste. Good stuff.

Pours a very dark brown, almost black colour. Smells mostly of chocolate malts, and toasted grains, tobacco, heavy and sweet aroma. Taste the toasted malts an chocolate straight away, with a bit of bitterness, with a smooth finish, and lingering roastedness.
