I went to this place on a Friday night, expecting to see a crowd and nice atmosphere. The place was desolate. At night the street looks very dicey. I did not run into any problems, but the street is very dark, mainly lined up with houses, garages, and cheap chinese places.
When the cab arrived, I almost could not believe that was the place I was going to. Maybe it is better during the day, and maybe it's okay for locals, but definitely, it's not in an attractive place for someone visiting Lima.
Inside the placed looked like it could be all right, if only there was any ambiance. No music whatsoever, there was one TV playing the simpsons. There was one other busy table with two old guys, and frankly, the place gave me and my wife the creeps.
We tried to look past it all and focus on the beer, but really it was hard. They offered me a coffee beer, which was supposed to be new. The waitress was nice enough, but she wasn't able to tell me what type of a beer it was. She just said it was 9%ABV. I assumed it was an Imperial Stout or Porter. The beer they gave me was some sort of dunkelweizen, or a brown ale. Really hard to tell. One thing was for sure, it was not good, and I could hardly taste any coffee. And I am sure it was not 9% either. Maybe around 6%. It had a lemony taste that I think relates to some use of wheat. It was not terrible, but not good either. What really killed it was the place.
I would not go during the night. My wife ordered a cranberry beer which tasted like a soda. Not bad, but not beer. We were there for hardly 15 minutes. The service was courteous, but really the vibe of the place was awful. We felt weird in there. Perhaps during the day it could be better. The passionate guy/owner people talk about in other reviews was not there this night.

If visiting Lima, you really should better try and find a restaurant with better beers. I found one with Chimay and Delirium Tremens, and my night was so much better in the nicer Miraflores district.

This brewery has been diversifying the beer culture for 6 years. It has more than ten types of beer. Interestingly, they add honey to a dunkel beer. In fact, they have been teaching Peruvian how to have a beer culture and to appreciate craft beer. Furthermore, they serve Peruvian seafood, actually, I certainly recommend it because it matches perfectly with craft beer. It seemed to me a great place to eat and drink delicious beers. I hope you have the same impression as I did, besides you will not regret, it is worth it.

Went to visit while vacationing in Peru. I am pretty sure this might just be the only brewpub in all of Peru, certainly in Lima.

The link to the map does not seem to be working (it takes you to Spain). I had a terrible time finding the place since google maps does not seem to like finding spanish street names. The easiest way to find it is to find the Museo de la Nacion on a google map and look about 5 or so blocks to the east along Av Javier Prado Est and you will see Agustín La Rosa Toro. The place is located about 5 blocks north on the east side of the street. We just took a cab to the museum and went from there (since we spoke almost no spanish and the Lima cabbies at least know the major museum sites. It was about a 15 minute walk through a pretty safe neighborhood during the day.

The important stuff: The guy that runs it is awesome, he does not speak any english, but is obviously super passionate about what he does. He was leading a homebrewing class when we got there and according to his website is basically trying to create a beer culture all by himself. One of the waitresses spoke english and told us alot about the operation.

They have a ton of beers and all were pretty decent. Comparable to your average brewpub beer in the US. A couple of the flavored beers were a bit too much for me (mint and lemon).

The food is fantastic. Ceviche, cevich, ceviche!

He also makes his own Pisco and natural sodas.
