Refreshing, and fair if a bit tamed take on a Hefe….
Presentation: 33 cl. brown capped bottle. Blue label with a presiding illustration over a green background portraying La Dame Blanche, Ematze Xuria, admiring a recently poured beer. Notes in French include a succinct description of ingredients, serving, and storing notes. Shows best by date (L17/05/13), and shows 4% Alc. by Vol. Served in a short weissbier glass.
A -Hazy light gold pour, rich frothy head, with nice retention, surface memory and good lacing.
S -Very soft nose, it feels fresh, lightly wheaty with a citric touch but characteristic notes of a hefe are absent…
T - Soft wheaty range, same citric touch, faint hint at spices, far from the standard bracket of the style but pleasing.
M - Light body with generous and well tuned carbonation and a pleasing soft finish.
O - Light and quaffable take on the style.
Notes: Pleasing if a bit too soft an offering… Still a quality take and while I´d rather go after EBB´s Pale Ale, this still leaves a nice memory and an eagerness to keep on trying their brews.
