16 oz can take home from the brewery. Opened on 3/11/19
A muddy golden color with shades of rusty orange. White foamy head drops down to minimal toppings and a secure ring around the perimeter. Very intricate lacing sticks around in a fun way.
A robust and pungent hop scent consists of grapefruit, tangy tropicals, citrus, sweet mango and pineapple fruitiness. A fresh and wild hop aroma with light golden and sweet bready malt notes round out the nose.
A variable hop bomb style complexity bursts from the Citra and tangy citrus based fruit blend. Mango, starfruit, orange rind, grapefruit and a quick citrus zest couples up with the crispy, golden malt base of grains and herbal tones which add up to some serious depth and sharp edges.
A bit more of a zesty bitterness lays across the palate at first, and again to finish. Earthy dryness, juicy hop middle and a rather juicy, high-toned bitter ending leaves you pondering.
Northhampton Brewery is one the oldest in the area, and as the scene continues to boom, NHB continues to bloom. Fun aspect: A rather fruit forward New England-ish style ipa that holds its own.

You know what a "JAG" is? Its "Just Another Guy" in reference to average professional athletes. Well, this beer is a JAIPA - Just Another IPA. That's not a bad thing, because it does the IPA thing good. But here in New England we have so many outstanding IPAs that the bar is set astronomically high. Good aroma, good body, mild bitterness, just a bit too grapefruity for my liking.

Had this while having dinner at the Northampton Brewery. Really great appearance; a burnt orange look with a thin head and patchy lacing. Aromas were fantastic as well with a mixture of spicy and grassy hops with some orangepeel. Taste generally followed the nose with a lesser flavorful citrus dimension compared to the smell. But, it still had an orange-lemon citrus flavor that was quite appetizing. Good body with decent carbonation. Overall, fantastic aromas with a good look and taste.
