Listed as a "Garnet-hued sour aged on French oak".
The color was indeed a crystal-clear deep red. Since I only got a 6 ounce sampler, there wasn't much head, only a ring around the top of the glass.
Aroma was quite malty, and not much of the sourness I would have expected. I did get some butterscotch in there... as the style description says, some diacetyl is allowed.
Taste... OK, but not what I expected. It was only slightly sour, it was much more malt forward without the pucker. I could get some of the tannins from the oak in there, but mostly it was a malt bomb.
Mouthfeel was average, maybe a little better. Didn't really leave a lasting impression in my mouth after I swallowed.
Overall this is an average beer, but not the sour beer that I had looked for. However, all was not lost... because they also had a beer called Tart, which I shall review next, and it was indeed the taste I had been seeking.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
