I enjoyed this and many others offered by the Northampton Brewery this past weekend.
The Pale ale came with a deep reddish copper color and a very light/thin head. There was very subtle carbonation and a slight malty aroma.
As I enjoyed the beer there was a medium amount of lacing left behind.
The taste had a slight sweetness but was fairly well balanced.
Distinct caramel notes along with slight fruitiness.
Very slight hoppy finish lingers.
This was good beer, not a great one. It was also not among the best one that Northampton had to offer.

Had on tap at the brewery and it was a pretty solid drink. The pale ale had an amber-like haze to with a thin lacing. Pretty hoppy and citrus smells, I could have swore I sniffed some ginger in it as well. Very deliciously bitter with a balanced citrus flavor. Great carbonation helped pack a punch and power to the drink as well. Overall, a tasty and all around good pale ale.

On-tap at the brewery. Amber body with minimal head. Significant Orange grapefruit flavor. Full bitterness, bit not that greatly drinkable.Piney resin, astringency in the finish. Carbonation was a bit off and aggressive.Perhaps a bit different malting.

22oz. bomber picked up at the brewery $3.00 a bottle.
A: Pours a nice copper color with a slight half finger off white colored head. Quickly dissipates holding on the edges of the glass.
S: Subtle floral and citrus hop aromas with a grassyness underneath. Slight sweet malt notes.
T/M: Citrus hop notes with a good backbone of malt. All flavors very subtle. Bitterness shouts but it doesn't travel very far. Slightly buttery on the palate with a light body. Dry finish with the bitterness. Just not enough legs on this one--could have a bit more kick/body/flavor.
D: Pretty decent pale ale. Not bad, not great. Middle of the road and worth a try.

Heh... it is beer. Poured a very pretty clear almost-amber in color. Thick white head that never quite went away. Nose was sour apples and rotting wood. Very dead. Flavor was off-balanced and leaning towards the malts which were remarkably like over-ripe fruit. Hops are dull and lifeless. Medium body and a tad oily. Kind of makes my tongue tingle. Just a very bland beer that is trying tought to be interesting but falls short.

Sampled at the Connecticut River Brewfest 2004.
This was a light amber ale with a good head, lots of foam.
The aroma was of light hops, and was slightly sweet.
The taste was lightly bitter and crisp, with a lingering bitter aftertaste.
Overall a good session beer. It would go well with nachos.

Light copper with bubbles throughout. Small off-white head that faded. A bit of citrus and bread on the nose, right in the middle. Served brutally cold making it a bit more crisp that it maybe should've been. Where did all the hops go? They certaintly didn't make an impact on the tongue. The closest thing to desirable taste I could describe was the combination of acidic mouthfeel with a bit of bread, and that may be pushing it. It was readily drinkable, could've replaced a sports drink at that point though as cold as it was. They need to get the IPA back.

Appearance: a faintly hazy, burnished orange color, adorned with a nice, white layer of foam, that slips down to size soon.
Aroma: a lovely fruit bouquet, nice hoppy stew, apricot, orange, a little grapefruit, bright and attractive.
Taste: good hop greeting on the palate right off, but it slides away with ease, accompanied by sweet, juicy, palpable malt.
Very smooth and easy-drinking, this pale ale, with a spicy, citric kick that bounces back anew with further sips.
an enjoyable brew, does it's job very well, but...one mystery remains...that randomly surreal picture on the label. Okay, so the masked cowboy is holding a mug of brew, but why is it's head actually a smiling sheep? Somebody tell me...?
And thanks to sulldaddy for the bottle, however bizarre the label.

A slightly above average brew that was drinkable, but not spectacular. Appearance was cloudy, light copper...head left quickly with a bit of lacing. Smell was very light. I picked up some faint malts and hops, once again not spectacular. Taste was singularly lightly bitter from the hops, but not much else. Mouthfeel was better, with a very nice dry quality. Drinkability was above average due to the pleasant dry quality.

This one suffers from being a little boring. The most exciting thing about it is its cloudy amber appearance, which is interesting for a pale ale. There is a faint hop aroma and not much else to smell. Nothing much going on in the flavor department either. It is dry, bready, and lightly hopped. The mouthfeel is a bit chewy and substantial.
There's nothing wrong with this beer, though it could stand to be livened up a little. But there are already so many lively beers that I'm content to let this one just be.

Honey colored liquid with a small, tan head that disappears quickly. Aroma is of hops, malt, citrus, and honey. Crisp flavor, with strong citrus, and some light malt and hops. Mouthfeel is a bit watery, and the flavor overall is light. I need a little more oomph to this one.

Nice head and ice tea color and clarity. This had a real citrus and hop presence to it and actually tasted more like an IPA than your classic pale or mild ale. Were some nice malty textures in this beer and I must say the flavors came out and balanced as it warmed in the glass. Very drying and long hop afertaste with grapefruit finish.

Excellent example of the pale ale type. Had a great amber color. The "pale" quality of the taste was unmistakeable. Dry, with a subtle hint of hops, this was by far one of the best pale ales I have had. It really felt good on my throat. Never left a bad aftertaste.

Each sip of this pale ale left a new ring of lace down my pint glass. It poured a cloudy gold color with a minimal fast dissolving head. The finish felt a bit watery. The mouthfeel was very gentle and smooth inviting another sip.The aroma was average, nothing too exciting there. This is a very drinkable beer that is refreshing. It taste explodes in your mouth revealing its bitter hop character.Maybe a touch of lemon, orange, and wheat are noted on the finish.I have purchased this many times and keep coming back.A bit more malt presence would make this a straight 4.0 beer in my book.

Pours a cloudy amber coloring with an orange hue. Very small particles of yeast sediment are visible in the brew. Frothy white head endures. Nose features floral hops with bready malt lurking behind. Light carbonation. Body is thinner than the aromas would lead you to expect. Slightly watery. Flavors are well balanced, with a biscuity malt opposite an unobtrusive hop profile. Certainly drinkable. Worth buying just for the artwork on the bottle label (I can't even describe it).

I thought this was a very drinkable beer. Soft at first, but with enough hops for some assertiveness. Head stayed nicely. Kind of a flowery ale, as you can smell the aromas right out of the bottle. Smooth and satisfying, I would drink this again.

This one has a certain yeasty character that is reminiscent of some of the more unenjoyable homebrews I have had. Not very assertive as far as the hops go, but that really doesn't matter since it is so tough to get past the yeastiness.

Something about the beers at this brewpub- they look good. This turned out to be just an average pale ale, a little watery but drinkable.
