Pours a clear dark amber color with a small bubbly half finger head that has no retention and leaves minimal lacing. Smell is fairly weak, some malts and nice hops. Not enough smell overall, the hops are earthy and piney in the nose. Taste is a good blend of hops and malts, not just a hop bomb IPA. Hops are earthy, piney, and citrus with a malty taste that almost reminds me of corn and light pale malt. The balance is good and it almost has the hop taste of the Stone 13th divided by 4. It almost has a Belgian malty taste to it. Mouthfeel is light with good smooth carbonation. Leaves a good coat of hops on the tongue with some warming. Drinkablity is good. The taste is good, the price is not bad, no off flavors or alcohol take away from this one at all. It is a nice IPA because of the malts and hop balance rather than overpowered hops.
