From the name I thought this may be a sour/wild IPA hybrid, but nope, regular IPA but a very good one. On-tap into a pint glass.
Pours a hazy bright orange with a small white head, quickly becomes a thin film on top leaving some lacing.
Light fruity hops and pale malts, very faint at first but better as the beer goes on.
Lots of grassy hops and citrus throughout...hops are on the bitter side of things, finishes with an extremely warm and tasty biscuit/caramel malt along with more pronounced citrus/tangerine notes. Nice mouthfeel overall, ABV isn't listed but I would peg this around 6.5%. (Later noticed it is listed as 6.2% on the menu.)
I was very close to bringing the taste up to a 4.5. The finish is definitely the highlight, I love biscuity citrus aftertastes for IPAs. I had hop burps for a while after this one. Toning down the bitterness and making the hop flavors more up-front would improve it, but this was a stellar IPA for sure. Hopefully they keep this one around, at $4.50 a pint I would get this regularly.
