Pours brown with dark red highlights, small creamy beige head. Turns to a thick ring eventually and leaves good lacing.

Light coffee, milk chocolate, and hops in the scent.

Very easy-drinking and light..coffee with cream, roasted malt, some milk chocolate/caramel. Hops show through easily the thinnish malts. Some notes of dark fruit as well. Flavors are nice, mouthfeel is uber-thin but not too bad, has a smooth silky feel to it, almost nitro-esque.

Not a bad porter but I do prefer mine to be more robust. Highlight is probably the easy drinkability.

Dark brown with red highlights and light brown foam. Low aroma of cocoa and coffee. Rich roasted malt flavor upfront. Notes of smoke and leather, a little woody, with a good bitter balance. Even mouthfeel, moderate carbonation, finishes a little tannic. Tasty and drinkable beer.

On-tap at the brewpub. Some portable aroma. Black, with lace. Some bitterness, roast, above average carbonation, creamy mouthfeel, though a bit watery. Coffee taste nor chocolate malt not significant. Easy drinking competent porter. One of their better ones.

22oz. bomber picked up at the brewery $3.00

A: Pours a dark brown with a slightly redish hue with a nice half finger cream colored head. Not much retention
S: Burnt chocolate malts and grassy malt notes. Slight nuttyness.
T/M: Slight coffee and chocolate notes, but very watery. Subtle bitterness in the aftertaste. Smooth and silky in the mouth, although it could be a bit more thick. Milky, almost like a milk stout. Good level of carbonation with a light body.
D: A bit to watery for me, even after it warmed a bit. Others brewed by Northampton were better offerings.

I had quite a few pints of this beer the other nite during a sports gathering of friends from college.
The beer was a dark brown color with no light passing through the glass. There is only minimal edge lacing of beige colored foam.
The aroma is mild but hints of chocolate and roasted malt are present. No hop presence detected.
First sip reveals an average to light body with average carbonation that is fine yet gentle on the palate. The flavor is similar to the nose with roasted malts and some dark chocolate which is slightly bittersweet. The flavor profile is fairly mild making it seem more like an english style porter. Again no hops are found in my glass.
The beer is amazingly smooth and was an excellent session beer that I enjoyed while socializing all nite. Not mind blowing but tasty.

Sampled on tap at the brewpub.

This porter poured a clear, dark, chestnut color with tan foam that settled. The smell was lightly sweet and malty with notes of caramel. The taste was lightly roasted malt with some caramel and a very light sweetness and a bit of yeast. The mouthfeel was smooth with medium body and low carbonation feel. The feel was a bit thin overall. This was a decent, easy drinking porter.

On tap in an American pint glass.

Deep brown color shows a slight clarity, thin lacing. Mocha aroma yet more bakers chocolate than anything else. The flavor is the same with rich unsweetened chocolate and mild roasted coffee. Mild hopping balances well though the maltiness is more of a dry malt flavor than a sweetness. Very tasty and a must try for this brewpub.

Nice easy drinking Porter from a nice, comfortable place to enjoy a beer
It pours a thin coffee color with a fast fading, medium-sized beige head.
A smoky malt aroma jumps out of the gate. The smokiness fades into nice dry malty smell.
Flavors of strong coffee and dark chocolate are easy to notice. A light taste of malt cracker and caramel sweetness roll around in the center of the taste buds.
A flavorful citrus bitterness and tea-like tartness offer a pleasant balance to the dark roasted malt. A distant sense of smoke provides a nice touch.
Nice brew!

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub.

Pint glass presentation. Tan 1/2" head over a slightly dark brown/black brew, and laced excellently. Aroma is strongly of dark malts, with a hint of hops. Taste is nice, dominated by dark malts, coffee in particular is strongly prominent. Mouthfeel and drinkability were good as well.

Nice dark color, with a beautiful coffee-bean smell that invited you to try a taste. Taste initially did not have much of a coffee-like presence, but as it warmed the coffee and dark chocolate flavors came out. Mouthfeel was medium, with a dryness and a hint of carbonation that held throughout. Nice and light on the finish. Very drinkable and inviting to try another.

Poured a dark color, bordering on stout. Great mix of hops and malt, with that sweet taste of the porter blending through. Not overly sweet, just the right mix. Not much of a head, but was not "syrup". I really enjoyed this, a fine example of the porter style.
